Dusan Jakica

Dusan Jakica was born in Novi Sad, Serbia, and grew up in the game, training in the academy of FK Vojvodina before falling for futsal in the 1990s. He went on to play professionally and co-founded a futsal club that reached the Serbian first division.

He is also a mechanical engineer by training, with a master's degree in mechanical and industrial engineering, and he coaches the way he once solved engineering problems: through logic, perception, and decision-making. As he puts it, at the highest level you find players who can see four options where others see only two.

U.S. Soccer named him Head Coach of the Men's Futsal National Team in 2019. He rebuilt a dormant program and led it to the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania, the country's first appearance since 2008, after a runner-up finish at the CONCACAF Championship. He had earlier spent six years as an assistant with Serbia's national futsal team. At Minnesota Select FC he brings that same standard, and an engineer's eye for detail, to every age group.
